Memorial Day schedule Monday May 28, 2012

Mayor Alphonse Petracco, the Board of Commissioners, and the Veterans Council announce the schedule for the 93rd Annual Memorial Day Parade to take place on Monday, May 28, 2012 at 11 am. After a brief opening ceremony in the Oval, the parade will step off onto Chestnut Street, up to Passaic Avenue, across Passaic to Centre Street, Centre Street to Franklin Avenue, where it will continue past the reviewing stand located on the steps of John Walker Middle School.

Mayor Petracco says, “I encourage everyone to take some time on this Memorial Day holiday to pause and remember our fallen heroes, and the sacrifices they made to keep our country “the land of the free” as assembled by our forefathers. The price of that freedom has never, and nor will it ever, be free. Our brave soldiers and their families pay the ultimate price, but will forever be remembered as the backbone of what makes our great country the “home of the brave.”
